> FacilitiesThe Club House
The country style clubhouse with its warm and friendly ambiance has panoramic views over the golf course from the attractive verandah area. A special feature is the fact that the 1 st , the 9 th , the 10 th and the 18 th tee boxes can all be easily reached, from the clubhouse. The clubhouse provides a substantive lounge incorporating the golf registration area and the bar, with an area of the verandah enclosed for protection from the wind, rain - and the occasional golf ball. During winter evenings members and visitors can warm themselves in front of the large log fire, which creates a wonderful warm and friendly atmosphere. Change room facilities are provided for both gentlemen and lady golfers. Towels are not provided so please bring your own. Russell Powell is the club manager and is always available to answer questions and to assist you with membership and other club related queries, while Gerda Doust is in the office to handle all financial matters.Bar
The bar forms part of the warm, country club house lounge. Ben Subramanian has been one of Sakabula's greatest assets, and few golfers in KwaZulu Natal are strangers to Ben, who is ably assisted by Innicent Dlamini and Dennies Mkize. The bar opens at 08h00 each day and normally remains open until the last guests depart.MealsSakabula is renowned for its 'breakfast on the verandah'. Golfers are encouraged to phone in their order to Ben as they come down the fairway on the 9th or 18th to ensure the waiting is minimal. Chicken and beef rolls, and the Sakabula hot dog
are also favourites with those who know Sakabula. The usual pies and
snacks are provided at very reasonable prices every day from 08h00 until
16h00. There are no dinners served in the evenings, though braais and
'lamb on a spit' can be arranged for private parties. TelevisionA large screen television is available in the club house with DSTV coverage of all major sporting events. This is very popular with members and visitors alike who enjoy their favourite sporting events after a round of golf. Golf Carts
There are 30 motorized carts available for rental. The rental charge is R75 for 9 holes and R135 for 18 holes. Children must be accompanied by a licensed driver. Members and visitors are welcome to bring their own motorized cart to Sakabula Golf Club. CaddiesNo caddies are available at Sakabula Golf Club. Corporate and Sponsored Golf DaysSakabula Golf Club has become renowned for its hosting of corporate, sponsored and fund raising golf days with lots of 'repeats' year after year. Due to its unique 'club in the country' character and its situation being only a 15 minute drive from Pietermaritzburg and 60 minutes from central Durban, more and more companies, schools and fund raising societies are choosing Sakabula. The management and staff at the clubhouse are dedicated to ensuring that these golf days are relaxed and a pleasant golfing experience for all participants. Sakabula Golf Club can arrange your after golf catering requirements to suit your individual needs. Our braais and the relaxed clubhouse atmosphere are renowned.Reciprocal Clubs
